Nuapada
District was created on 1st April 1993 by carving out the Nawapara
Sub-Division of undivided Kalahandi District with an area of 3408
Sq. KMs consisting of 653 nos. of Revenue villages having population
of 5,30,690 as per 2001 census. The total no. of rural households
is 1,22,601. Total no. of BPL families is 99,465. The district has
been divided into 5 Blocks namely, Nuapada, Komna, Khariar, Boden
and Sinapali, 4 Tahasils, namely Nuapada, Komna, Khariar and Boden.
There are 109 G.Ps, 2 N.A.Cs and 6 Police Stations. SC population
of the district is 72,296 and ST population is 1,84,221, which comprise
13.62 %
