The following Courts are functioning in the Judgeship of Kalahandi & Nuapada.

LEGAL – AID

A Court of Judge, Permanent & continuous Lok Adalat is functioning at Bhawanipatna and the Registrar, Civil Courts, who is also the secretary of district Legal Services Authority is functioning as Judge of Permanent and Continuos Lok Adalat. The district Legal Services Authority, Kalahandi also holds Lok Adalat in every month in different interior parts of the District of Kalahandi and also at the head quarters of Kalahandi at District Court, Bhawanipatna, where a number of Criminal, Revenue and Civil Cases including the Pre litigation Bank Cases are being disposed of on compromise.

The aims and objectives of the District Legal Services Authority is to help the poor persons for filing and conducting the cases at the cost of the Govt.

The following persons are entitled to get Legal Aid.:

1. Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.
2. Women and Children.
3. Mentally retarded and handicapped.
4. Industrial worker.
5. Bonded Labourer.
6. Under Trial Prisoner.
7. Persons who does not come under the above Categories may also get legal aid if their annual income is below Rs. 25,000(Rupees twenty five thousand).
